Sixth Form News

Our sixth form students raised over £400.00 for Children in Need last week through bake sales, games and donations. Their fancy dress costumes looked amazing and it was nice for our younger students to see how fun life at William de Ferrers sixth form can be.

Sixth form students visited the university and apprenticeship fair, held at Chelmsford City Racecourse, on Friday 15 November. Students had the opportunity to visit many exhibitors, including universities and apprenticeship providers, gaining valuable guidance on academic and career pathways.

Year 12 students who study a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering or maths) recently visited Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford to take part in their annual science festival. Students took part in hands-on experiences with a STEM focus including VR headsets, the use of magnets and building bridges, as well as having the opportunity to speak with presenters and students about their experiences in working in or studying STEM at university. Students particularly enjoyed the chance to sit in a Tesla car and learn about its capabilities.
